Whitney Houston’s Body Arrives in New Jersey

Posted Tuesday February 14, 2012 9:43 AM GMT
As the entertainment world continues to mourn her loss, the body of Whitney Houston arrived in New Jersey last night (February 13).
The “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” songstress’ remains were driven to the Whigham Funeral Home in a golden hearse ahead of her funeral this week.
And of course there were plenty of Houston’s fans waiting eagerly as the car arrived, some carrying flowers and candles in remembrance of the late singer.
Whitney’s mother Cissy was in the crowd, and it seems she was convinced by the rest of the family to have Houston buried in Newark, rather than Atlanta like she’d originally hoped.

REMEMBERING WHITNEY HOUSTON (1963-2012)

Whitney
"The loss of Whitney Houston is painful. I remember meeting Whitney for the first time when I was 15. She was the ultimate legend. The ultimate woman. Not only was she confident, poised, stunningly beautiful and intelligent, but she was sincere and kind. She took the time to make everyone feel like they were very important to her. I, like every singer, always wanted to be just like her. Her voice was perfect. Strong but soothing. Soulful and classic. Her vibrato, her cadence, her control. So many of my life's memories are attached to a Whitney Houston song. She is our queen and she opened doors and provided a blueprint for all of us.

God bless her."

Phaedra Parks Shares Memories of Whitney Houston on Watch What Happens LIVE! [PHOTOS + VIDEO]

Feb, 13 2012 | Written by ATLien
Attorney Phaedra Parks of The Real Housewives of Atlanta was a special guest on last night’s “Watch What Happens LIVE!” after show with Andy Cohen.
Parks, whose hubby Apollo served drinks as eye-candy for the night, spoke about the untimely passing of her good friend Whitney Houston.
As you know, Parks once represented Houston’s husband Bobby Brown on numerous cases during their residency in the city of Atlanta and she provided legal assistance during their “Being Bobby Brown” reality show days.
Parks revealed that the couple had a connection even after the drama surrounding their addictive behaviors and subsequent divorce.
Of all the married couples I’ve been around, I can say they probably had the PUREST love I’ve ever been around.
It was a connection like none other and while people always made sweeping judgments about the relationship, they were crazy about each other.
And even after the divorce, I spoke to Whitney on numerous occasions and I knew that they still had a connection.
Andy, who appeared shocked at her answer, also asks Phaedra about her opinion on the public’s perception that it was Brown who caused Whitney’s downfall.
Watch video of her response + more photos below… [Kandi Burruss also calls in to share her memories of Whitney]
As for her feelings on if Bobby played a role in Whitney’s demise, Phaedra states:
Everyone has always thought that Bobby had a lot of influence on Whitney. They had a very interesting relationship and what I can say is that Whitney was definitely her… she was a very strong woman. I mean… she had a very strong personality and they were both adults at the end of the day. I can’t say that Bobby did anything to her to bring her down and obviously… I loved the both of them.
I guess the one thing she and I had in common…. both of our mothers were very strong women of God and faith. There were numerous occasions that Whitney prayed with me and I likewise prayed with her.
So if I know nothing else, I am so sure that she knew God and had a good relationship with Christ.
I’m still shocked that people are still blaming Bobby.

What do you think of Phaedra’s response?

Newark or Atlanta? Whitney Houston’s Family Reportedly Divided Over Burial Site + Bobbi Kristina Lived Alone in ATL? [PHOTOS]

The family of Whitney Houston released the following official statement about her recent death.
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Whitney. This is an unimaginable tragedy and we will miss her terribly. We appreciate the outpouring of love and support from her fans and friends. The Houston Family”
Houston was born in Newark and raised in East Orange, and while many have said she never forgot her Jersey roots, her Atlanta ties were just as long.
Whitney and ex-husband Bobby Brown shared a home in the city and Houston still owns a townhome located in Alpharetta (an Atlanta suburb).
In fact, rumor has it that Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, 18, is said to have been living there off and on unsupervised.
The two cities were each close to Whitney’s heart and the family is reportedly torn over where she should be laid to rest…
Both Cissy Houston and Dionne Warwick prefer that Whitney be buried in Atlanta, near the home where her daughter Bobbi Kristina resides.
They also believe Atlanta is the place Whitney enjoyed the most and had the fondest memories.
But according to TMZ, the rest of the family believes Whitney should buried in Newark, where she was born, and subsequently discovered at a local Baptist church.
Houston’s mother, Grammy-award winning gospel singer Cissy Houston, led the musical program at the 112-year-old church back in the day, while Whitney’s cousin, Dionne Warwick, also sang in its choir.
We’re told Cissy’s position is succinct: “Michael Jackson did not want to be buried in New Jersey, and Whitney did not want to be buried in New Jersey.”
We’re told Cissy and Dionne caved, after other family members convinced them New Jersey is where the world will remember her most.
Whitney has homes in LA, NJ and ATL, and lately spent most of her time in California.
As for her daughter Bobbi Kristina, a source revealed to HollywoodLife that she spent most of her time in Atlanta… alone.
“Bobbi has been living alone for years. Whitney basically bought the home for Bobbi after they were kicked out of another prestigious neighborhood down the road.
While Whitney’s ex, Bobby Brown, recently left his New Edition reunion tour to be by his daughter’s side during this trying time, many friends of the family are said to be worried that 18 year old Bobbi Kristina will be even more alone when she returns home to Atlanta.

Rihanna Has A New Look!

Rihanna was spotted in LA Friday night rocking an interesting bold look. She wore an Armani jean jumpsuit, Louboutins heels, fierce blonde hair and blackberry lipstick. The jumpsuit will be released with her denim line in October. I love the entire look! I especially love the jumpsuit and lipstick. I think the blackberry lipstick actually gives her more of a toned down look. So tell me,
what do you think of her new look? Is the lipstick too much? Would you rock the jumpsuit.
